Online there are grounding products available that are cheaper than the original Earthing ™ products. However these are counterfeit products and have a clearly perceptible, visible and measurable lesser quality. The offered sheets are thinner and of lower quality cotton and the silver thread is thinner. The quality and thickness of the silver thread is important for the operation of the grounding sheet. We have tested the sheet with our equipment and have found that they reduce the body voltage much less than the original Earthing ™ sheets. The effectiveness is less and the sheets are also less durable. Do not be fooled by the fact that the grounding products are assembled in the Netherlands. This also applies to all our Earthing products. The thing that counts is the place where the grounding sheets are manufactured. The original Earthing ™ sheets are manufactured in the United States.
Counterfeit mats also exist. These mats are of a different material than those of Earthing ™. The connection is done quite clumsy and just like the grounding sheet, they reduce the body voltage much less as the original Earthing ™ mats.
The connection of the counterfeit products work in a different way, namely through the attachment of a metal clip. When connecting the mat to the power outlet, it can result in dangerous situations because the connection clip is made entirely out of metal, especially for children it’s dangerous. There is no resistance in the thread to protect against any occurring voltage when touching electrical appliances while at the same time you are in contact with the grounding products and against the sudden voltage on contact with the earth, for instance by an electrical fault or lightning. This can also create life-endangering situations.
Tests
Two tests clearly showed that the counterfeit grounding products worked far less well than the original Earthing ™ products. In these tests we looked at the effect of the body voltage before and during the grounding on the grounding mat or grounding sheet by touching it with the flat hand.
All grounding products were connected to the same power strip, the Earthing ™ product using the special EU earthing adapter, the counterfeit product using the clip. In the first test, the test person touched an Earthing ™ sheet and a counterfeit grounding sheet in quick succession. Then we looked at the difference in body voltage. For the second test, the differences between an Earthing ™ mat and a counterfeit grounding mat were taken into account. It is advised to have a maximum AC voltage on the body of 100 mv.
Measurements with the grounding mats:
Before grounding there was an alternative voltage of 770 mV on the body. During Grounding with the Earthing ™ mat this was reduced to 25 MV. During grounding with the counterfeit grounding mat this was only reduced to 175 mV. The counterfeit grounding mat leaves an alternative current on the body that is 7 times as high as the original Earthing ™ mat.

Before grounding there was an alternative voltage of 770 mV on the body. During grounding with the Earthing ™ sheet this was reduced to 50 mV. During grounding with the counterfeit grounding sheet this was only reduced to 250mV. The counterfeit grounding sheet leaves an alternative current on the body that is 5 times as high as when an original Earthing ™ sheet is used.
